Temporary Service Overview
Single Phase

To request temporary service, the builder and/or contractor will need to complete an application. Please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Customer name, mailing address, phone number and daytime contact information
• Address of service location
• Electrician name, phone and fax numbers
• Contractor name, address, phone and fax numbers
• Desired date of service installation

		General Information:

• The Company will supply temporary service when it can be served from our existing lines or facilities.
• If three phase temporary service is required please contact the Company and arrange for a site visit with one of our field representatives.
• The Company limits temporary service to a 12 month period.

		Customer Responsibilities:

• Install temporary service structure, service entrance cable, meter base and grounding
• Coordinate approval of temporary service by local wire inspector
• Pay in advance, $315.00 for the cost of connecting and disconnecting the service.

		Company Responsibilities:

• We will have a field representative inspect your installation and contact you if there are any corrective actions necessary. Please allow 2-3 business days for this inspection.
• If there are no corrective actions necessary please allow 2-3 business days (weather permitting) for Unitil to install and energize your temporary service provided no other extensive line work is necessary.
• We will provide and install the overhead service drop and meter for temporary overhead service (Standard 1-50-10) OR
• We will make the connection for temporary underground service (Standard 2-50-10).
