Electric Meter Request Overview

To request an electric meter installation, the contractor or property owner will need to complete an application. Please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Customer name, mailing address, phone number and daytime contact information
• Address of service location
• Electrician name, phone and fax numbers
• Contractor name, address, phone and fax numbers
• Desired date of service

		Customer Responsibilities:

• Provide preferred meter location
• Provide and install meter base, service entrance cable (for overhead), conduits and pull string (for underground) and grounding of meter base
• Install adequate point of attachment (for overhead service)

		Company Responsibilities:

• We will have a field representative check your requested location and leave a red tag and equipment for point of attachment (for you to install). If for some reason your requested location is not preferred, we will place a tag at an alternate location. If a meter location is otherwise agreed upon (i.e. over the phone) and a field visit is not required, the customer may obtain equipment for the point of attachment at the Company's facility or purchase the equipment from a supplier.
• We prefer to have meter locations near the driveway of your home however you do have the option to install it elsewhere if our lines can accommodate the location. If you select to have the meter located other than near the driveway we may install an automatic reading meter at no charge.
• We will e-mail or call you with a job identification number you can refer to when inquiring upon this service request.
