Trench Inspection Overview

To request a trench inspection, the builder and/or contractor will need to complete an application. Please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Customer name, mailing address, phone number and daytime contact information
• Address of service location
• Electrician name, phone and fax numbers
• Contractor name, address, phone and fax numbers
• Desired date of inspection

		Customer Responsibilities:

• Excavate and backfill trench
• Provide and install conduit
• Provide and install caution marking tape 8" below final grade
• Provide 48-hour notice to schedule and perform trench inspections or contact your local wiring inspector if local codes require a trench inspection

		Company Responsibilities:

• We will have a field representative perform the inspection. If the trench is not approved the field representative will be in contact with you for corrective actions necessary.
