New Hampshire's electric industry is restructuring to give customers the option to choose their electric energy supplier. The number of competitive suppliers available to serve customers is growing which will provide consumers the ability to choose among energy suppliers at prices determined by the market.
Your current electric utility will continue to be your electric distribution company and will deliver the electricity to your home or business. The price for the delivery of electricity will be determined by the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission.
For now, customers can remain with their electric distribution company, which will purchase and deliver transition service electric supply at regulated prices. Distribution utilities are also required to provide Default Service for customers who move to a competitive supplier and then later return to the utility for electric supply.
